Kathy Ba Pe

Director


She has been with CISM for the past fifteen years and has made great contributions to the development of the curriculum and has specialized in early childhood education. Before coming to CISM, she had the opportunity to spend twenty years as a teacher at the Department of Education in Australia. She obtained a B.A-Dip. Ed in 1954 from Rangoon (Yangon) University and taught at Nat Mauk State High School as the Head of the Language Department, for more than ten years. She has also earned professional certificates in Ethnic Children's Services and Early Literacy In-Service Course from the Department of Education in Australia. While she was teaching at the Australian Educational Department, she had a special interest in Early Childhood Education and teaching children with social and cultural diverse backgrounds. She is also committed to helping young children grow and develop their full potential in a caring, creative environment.



U Kyi Min

Principal


Kyi Min has over 10 years of education experience in the U.S.A. He taught middle school and high school at Houston Independent School District (HISD) for over five years and at Houston Community College System (HCCS) for over eight years. Throughout his educational career, he has built strong relationships by communicating and collaborating with parents/guardians, peers and school administrators. U Kyi Min has also established and achieved bold and measurable goals. He has planned, developed, and implemented research-based instructional programs focused on student academic growth.

While working at HISD, he taught Gifted and Talented students in the Vanguard Program at Burbank Middle School in Houston, Texas. He has a proven track record of success in teaching his students to pass the Texas State standardized test, known as the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test. Many of his students excelled and scored high on the HISD standardized test, known as the Stanford test. He was awarded the Outstanding Teacher award from Burbank Middle School.

At Houston Community College System, U Kyi Min taught Pre-Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and College Algebra courses to freshman and sophomore level students.

U Kyi Min earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and majored in Computer Information System (CIS), from the University of Houston – Downtown and Associates in Applied Science degree from Houston Community College System.



Daw Khin Hnin Nwe

Assistant Principal


Khin Hnin Nwe is an experienced teacher and school administrator. She has experience in Primary, Middle and Secondary school, and Universities and Institutes across the State and Independent education sectors in Yangon, Myanmar. Prior to taking up a position at CISM she held the position of Part-Time Tutor at the English Department at Yangon University and Institute of Education in Yangon.

Khin Hnin Nwe`s first degree was a B.A in English from Yangon University, Myanmar, with a focus on the areas of Language, Literature and Social Studies. She has completed an M.A in TEFL at Institute of Education in Yangon, Myanmar, focused on Teaching English as a Second Language; as well as a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from RMIT University in Melbourne Australia, specializing in the field of skills, knowledge and hands-on teaching practices. She also attended the South East Asia Leadership Programme at Northern Illinois University, USA.

She has held a variety of leadership positions in school and her community, including responsibilities for curriculum coordination, professional learning and staff welfare. She has a particular interest in curriculum development, professional learning, critical thinking skills and organizational development. She has presented workshops on these topics in a variety of ELT Seminars and ELTeCS Burma annual ELT Conferences organized by British Council Burma.
